Steve from Educate Me came and spoke to us about rainforests. We learned a lot about the importance of rainforests, the animals that live there and the plants and layers of the rainforests.

What an eventful week we have had. The children can all be very proud of themselves this week. They were awesome on Thursday at the show.
Thanks you for all your help before the day with costume making, prop making and on the night with the make-up.
We do hope the children enjoyed the night. They looked like they had a wonderful time.

It has also been sad saying goodbye to Mrs Coombes. She is a wonderful teacher and will be missed by all.
We hope she has an exciting time in Queenstown and look forward to getting regular updates from her.

It was a bitterly cold afternoon for this event but what a wonderful way for the children to warm up.
The children all ran very well, with some very close battles at the finish line.
Great training everyone , you can all be proud of your efforts.

up to support their children.

In Room 9 we have been learning about geometry. We had fun making 3D shapes and more!

In Room 9 we have been reading lots of Maori legends.
One we really enjoyed was “The Fish Of Maui.” We retold the story and made some collage and dye pictures to go with them.

School was a very freaky place to be today. We had pirates, robbers, dogs, witches, princesses and many other unusual creatures in our class.

On Thursday the14th April we had our school swimming sports.
Room 9,10 and 11 had events running in the smaller pool at the Greerton Aquatic Centre.

Today we went to Papamoa. We had a very long walk up the Papamoa Hills. We had morning tea at the top. We saw Mayor and Motiti Islands. After Papamoa we went to Baywave and I went on the hydro slide.

I went to the Papamoa Hills and it was steep. After that we went to the Baywave pools. I went on the hydro slide and it was dark at the top. On the way out of the dark bit, Georgia was trying to catch up with me and Jamie was too.

We went to a kiwi place. We sat on a kiwi then we went on the kiwifruit ring and then we went on the jet boat. It was really, really super crazy!!! The boat spun around and around. I got wet in it. It was the best boat in the whole wide world. Weeeeee!! Then we went to Comvita. We learned about bees, buzz. We asked questions and we watched a funny bee TV!! We had sandwiches. Then we went back to camp and we got sprinkled with water on our hands and fingers with the sprinkler.

I went on the jet boat and they spun the boat, “weeeeeeee”, then we went again and stopped.
After that we went to see the bees. Then I saw the bees “Bzzzzzzzz”. And what do bees make? Honey! So we had honey sandwiches, “Mmmmmmmmmm”.
Then I went back to camp.
I love school camp.

We cleaned up our room. Then we went around the Mount and had lunch. We went to Pilot Bay and we dived under the water and we found a starfish. Then we threw it away into the water.

We went to the rock pools and we got some shellfish. The rock pools only had shells in. My mum picked up the shells and we couldn’t go in too deep because it was too high.
