    New World Bakery

We had a very interesting visit to Brookfield New World Bakery.
We saw dough being made, kneaded, rolled and cut up into balls. There were huge ovens to cook all the delicious treats in. We were especially impressed by the special toppings put on the cakes.
We learned a lot when we visited the Bakery.
Thank you New World and all those wonderful parents who accompanied us on our trip.

    Pyjama Day

We had a fun time dressing up to celebrate Pyjama Day at school.

    Pet Art

We were learning to draw cartoon pets as part of our report writing unit. Miss Rickard taught how to make cardboard prints of our chosen pets.

Unfortunately the names didn’t come out on the slide show. Enjoy!

    Bread Making

We have had a wonderful time learning about flour, yeast and making bread with Miss Rickard our student teacher.

Enjoy our collages of the processes we  completed to make bread.

    First was

    1. Making the Flour.

    From
    From Making Yeast

    3.Making the Bread.
Every day two loaves of bread were made in the class. It smelt like a bakery every day.
The bread we enjoyed the most was the bacon and cheese bread. It was delicious!!!

    International Visitors in Room 9

We were very lucky to have such an enthusiastic group of people visit our school to help us plant trees in the native bush.

We were fortunate to have Joe from England and Taku from Japan come into our room. Joe talked to us about important places in England, such as Stone Henge, Big Ben, the double decker bus and lots of other things.

Taku told us all about Japan and was very busy writing names for the children. He also performed a Japanese type of haka that they perform at special functions.
    He performed it well.

We have been learning about Japan. As an art activity we made some people wearing kimonos.
We are very proud of them.
    They look fantastic.

    Junior School Cross Country

On Thursday we were very lucky to have The Junior School Cross Country. All of the children ran really well.
Well done to Kyle who came second and Connor who came first in the Year 2 boys race and Bailey who came first in the Year 3 Boys race.
Well done to all those children who took part. An awesome effort.

    Maths Time

We have had a fun time learning about 3 dimensional shapes and tangrams.
We made 3D shapes with play dough and toothpicks and created pictures using tangrams.
    Don’t they look wonderful?
