Room 9,10 and 11 have just completed an awesome camp at Waihi Beach.
We had a wonderful group of parents who drove, supervised, cooked, washed, read books, swam, made sandcastles, completed tasks and comforted children when needed. Your help was amazing.
The children had a wonderful time and learned a lot along the way.
Thank you.
Day 1
Today we went to the Karangahake Gorge in Waihi. It was fun, but it was hard because there were lots of stairs, tunnels, train tracks and lots of swinging bridges. It was cool.

Day 2 Today we went to the Waihi Martha Gold Mine. First we went around Waihi. Then we went to the Museum. Mr Broadhurst drove the bus. When we were on the bus a lady passed around some gold and silver.
Next we went into The Education Centre. It was fun.

Day 3
Today we had breakfast then we packed up our gear. We got into our cars and went to Waihi. We saw the Pump house, the Poppet Head and the Martha Mine. We had morning tea at Gilmour Rd Reserve. At Bowentown we walked to the beach. Then we went home. By Lily Evans
Thank you also to my wonderful parents who supplied me with photos to make this web page. Enjoy looking at our photos.

Hello and welcome to Room 9.
We have had a busy start to the Term.
We hope you enjoy looking at our page.
We have created some lovely pictures. Can you tell the children?
What a busy week we have had becoming more aware of how to care for our environment.
We have had lunch in the Native Bush, went on a bush walk to the Puketoki Reserve and on Friday we are having a beach clean up at Omokoroa.
Today we were very lucky to have a wonderful marae experience. We were welcomed on to the Tutereinga Marae at Te Puna.
After our welcome we were given some tasty kai and then shown how to weave a flax (harakeke) flower. As you can see we had a great time.
Harold taught us about marae protocol and the history of the Tutereinga Marae.
After that it was waiata time. Sarah taught us some new songs and the boys were given the opportunity to learn the haka, which they performed very enthusiastically.
We have been studying The Seven Stars of Matariki. One way of celebrating the Maori New Year is to fly kites, so we decided to make our own kites.
We had a lot of fun.
Unfortunately, the wind was not good for kite flying so only a few kites flew really well. However, we did have fun running around trying to get them to fly.
