We have been delighted to have Dan the Puppet Man visit the junior classes and put on a puppet show called “Kiwi”. It was a road safety show and he was able to stay with the classes and teach child how to make sock puppets.

It was a great afternoon to show our parents and families how clever we are in the pool. We are great at floating , kicking and being safe in the water. Some of us are able to use some arm action in our swimming too.

We have all thoroughly enjoyed all our camp activities over two days and one night
Room 6, 7 and 8 children spent Thursday exploring Marshall’s Aniaml Park and especially liked seeing the huge eels. Lots of children spent time patting the guinea pigs as well as seeing all the other aniamls at the park.
One of the best things to do was go whizzing down on the flying fox. After lunch we walked through the bush and visited the beautiful waterfall.
At night we all had a family barbeque at school, followed by a short concert. The parents all got up and joined in the dances.
Everyone was keen to get to their tents for the sleepover. Some children slept in the classrooms. It rained a bit in the night, but everyone still woke up smiling.
After breakfast at school we were off to the Mount beach for sandcastle creations and then headed to the rock pools in search of sea creatures. After a yummy lunch it was time to soak in the hot pools before heading back to school.
It was pack up time and the chance to say our thankyous and goodbyes to all our friends and classmates. What a great lot of experiences.
Many thanks to all the parents who gave so much time and energy to making a very successful junior camp.

We like to use our imagination and be creative in our room. It is good to work with others and produce things we are proud of. Look at these photos of things we have made together.

We have a busy term ahead with lots of activities planned and loads of learning. Everyone is looking forward to our overnight camp.
This is a photo of us on the first day. Since the photo was taken we have had a couple of new people join our class of Year 1 and 2 children. Happy learning.

We had a beautifully fine day for our flower show and pet day on Friday 22 October. Everyone had a busy morning creating symmetrical vaseline saucer designs, crazy vege/fruit creatures, amazing sand garden and creative pets using play dough. Lots of people won certificates and everyone was proud of their achievements.
In the afternoon the pets arrived. Children talked to the judges about how they care for their animals. It all finished with a grand parade. Just as well the dogs all behaved themselves! We even had two beautiful horses.

Rooms 6, 7 and 8 clever kids put on a folk dancing display for the parents and grandparents on Wednesday. It was good that we had learnt all the dances so well. Some were circle dances and others needed us to dance with partners. The last dances, Jiffy Mixer and Bunny Hop were line dances. The parents were very good at joining in and having fun too. It was a good chance to learn lots of dances from different countries. We danced the Hokey Tokey, so we all know our left and right now.

We were lucky to have a visit for Constable Doris. She let Jack get dressed up in her police uniform.
The ARMED OFFENDER’S SQUAD surprised us by visiting our school. This was part of our study about POLICE and how they help us. We were glad to have them come and explain how they how to protect the police and our community. They have to be very strong and fit, as they have about 35 kg of equipment to carry. What a lot of important gear. Some people were about to wear the heavy bullet proof vest. There were even real guns, but the police made sure we were all safe. Just as well they didn’t let off any tear gas.

Look at the “YOU’RE BEST OF THE BUNCH” banana cards we made for our wonderful Dads.
