The class has been very busy studying how to be fire wise. They have also been using box models to create some terrific fire engines. Children worked together and helped eachother. They studied pictures of engines and came up with some great designs. In the end they painted them the correct colours. Everyone has been amazed by how wonderfully they have turned out.

September 7th, 2009 by room8The three junior classes met together under the dome for a folk dancing afternoon with the parents. Everyone got involved, quickly learnt the steps and enjoyed trying the circle, partner and line dances. The cameras were capturing the fun moments. We are a very clever and coordinated lot. Maybe you’ll see us on ‘Dancing with the Stars ” when we are a bit older.
LIFE EDUCATION VAN VISITS

ZERO WASTE

The whole school enjoyed a show put on by a theatre group. They taught us to “REDUCE, RECYCLE, REUSE and COMPOST” our waste and rubbish. It was such a well presented show and everyone listened attentively. Three of our school kids were in the “Waste Wise” show competition.
HEARING SOUND

Watching the Bobcat
The site has been cleared for the new junior playhouse. The children are keenly waiting for this to be built by Mr Power and his helpers. The plans have been drawn up and it looks like it will be a great place to play.
Working at P.M.P
July 28th, 2009 by room8The Junior classes have started a PMP (Perceptual Motor Programme). It’s a fun active experience for the children and works to improve such things as coordination, balance and eye tracking. A group of parents willingly assist at the stations twice a week. The children are thoroughly enjoying the challenges. The teachers really value the support from all the parents too.
The Yatton Park Trip

July 26th, 2009 by room8During the term we were studying trees and were able to visit the Quarry Park at Te Puna and Yatton Park in Greerton. It was a fun day comparing the trees and playing in the leaves.
