We have been very busy learning all about birds in room 6. We have made some really fun things too, stained glass pukekos, bird feeders, flying birds and birds on the computers. We know lots of facts about pukekos, kiwis, falcons, oyster-catchers, tuis, parakeets, and fantails. Make sure that you come and check out all of the neat work in our classroom. Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to…
We all had a wonderful time on our camp. We had the opportunity to do lots of new activities. We started our camp at Blair Lodge where we made birds, did a scavenger hunt, raced around the BMX track, learnt how to do archery, climbed over and under the confidence course and played some sport.
Later we walked down to a beautiful waterfall and had a swim before a delicious dinner and singing some songs to our mums and dads. That night we slept in cabins and tents with our mums, dads and friends.
The next day we went to the Katikati museum where we dressed up like we were in the olden days and learnt about things from the past. It was really interesting to see all the old things there. From there we carried on to the Bird Gardens where we ate lunch and fed the birds. It was really interesting to see so many different types of birds. Some of the doves even sat on our arms!
It was a really fun, exciting and enjoyable camp! Thank you to all of the parents that were able to come and help we really appreciated having you there =)
