The classic Edmonds Cookbook got pulled out this week to bake delicious Anzac Biscuits! As well as researching all about WWI and the ANZAC’s, we learnt the importance of the little things, like the biscuits, being sent over in care packages to the soldiers. The children all worked extremely hard and so did the parent help, baking over 100 biscuits together for the class (and teachers!).YUM!

We are learning about ANZAC day and WWI. 
We have also been learning to write Haiku poems.
They only have 3 lines; Line 1: 5 syllables, Line 2: 7 syllables, Line 3: 5 syllables.
Here are a few haiku poems we have written…
World War 1
Soon leaving for war
Raining mortar shells above
Save country from war
Sam
Anzac Day World War 1
The day is coming Fighting Germany
All the loved ones leave for good Poppies growing where they once stood
Now just poppies there Families miss them
