Room 10 & 11 Waihi Beach Camp 2012

Room 10 and 11 went on camp to Waihi Beach. On the first day we walked the ‘Window Walk’ in the Karangahake Gorge in the rain! We were glad we took our torches so we could travel through the tunnels safely. In the afternoon we headed to the Waihi Beach for a swim and or sand sculpture. The next day we went to the Martha Mine Education centre to learn about gold mining nowadays and then we visited the museum to find out about gold mining long ago. We even got to hold some gold and silver. The final day we packed up and visited Bowentown. Here we walked over to Shelley Bay and explored the rock pools. Last we had a swim at Sapphire Springs. It was a busy time and loads of fun!
