Rainforest Visit

P8020024P8020015P8020006P8020012On the 24th August, we had a visit from Educate Me, a company from Australia that came to show us all about the Rainforest.

Steve talked about the parts of the rainforest, the animals and how the rainforests around the world are important to us all.

He spread the message that we must help to save the rainforests, the animals, and those who live in it.

Term 3 is here!

IMG_5320IMG_5249IMG_5244IMG_5243Welcome back to another busy term – 10 weeks of full-on learning and fun!

Last terms production was fabulous! All classes gave it their all and it showed with the amazing smiles on the children’s (and the teacher’s) faces as they performed! We are very appreciative of the positive feedback we have had from parents and we have passed these thoughts onto the children.

This term is filled with lots of activities – No’1 Learning Model, Kuaka Japanese students, Speeches, Rainforest interactive show, Science Roadshows, Science Fairs, Technology, Marae Visits, Jump Jam, MADE awards  www.madeawards.com)… Phew! The list continues!!

May it be another awesome term!

Year 4-8 Cross Country

P1000007P1000022P1000015Thursday 23rd July saw all the Year 4-8′s heading up to Whakamarama School to compete in the Small Schools Cross Country.

The weather looked suspect in the morning but we headed up there in anticipation! When it was time for the first race, the sky opened up and rained, rained and rained some more!!

Even though everyone was wet, cold and muddy, all the children did amazingly well with a bunch of them going through to the North Cluster competition next week.

Well done to all those who placed , all that ran, the parents and teachers that supported them and Whakamarama for holding it!

You never stop learning!

Mrs Thompson is completing a Graduate Diploma of IT in Education. One of her papers was to create a movie.

Thanks to all the movie stars and willing teachers!!
