International Students go bush!

P6220005P6220046P6220041P6100309On Tuesday 22nd June, the ISV (International Students Volunteers), organised by the Kuaka Conservation Volunteer Programme, came to school to help plant more than 400 new native plants and trees into our native bush area.

The students were from lots of different countries – USA, Canada, Malaysia, Japan, China, UK and more! They were all very enthusiastic about our school – from the Jump Jam songs, school tours by the classes, the planting with the Enviroschools monitors and Room 3, to the fun soccer and basketball games in the afternoon with Room 1 and 2.P6220032

Everyone benefited from the visit – the different cultural experiences and expanding native bush for us, the experience of a Kiwi school culture and a conservation effort by the visitors.

Our Native Bush looks fantastic!!
