Undercover Cody Comes to Visit

From Undercover Cody

Today Room 10, 9, 8, 7 and 6 went to see Undercover Cody in the multimedia room because we wanted to know how to be sun smart.

First we lined up to go see Undercover Cody. When we were there we had to get into two lines and sit down where our teachers told us to.

Then we had to listen to the Melanie. She talked about sun smart for a little bit.

After a while Cody came in, he was dressed in green stockings and green gloves and he has a shell and a fat head. He had a red hat. Cody doesn’t say anything. Melanie asked a teacher if they could ask a child if they wanted to go up and help the adult. Izzy got chosen to put hats on.

Eventually Cody had to go to have a rest and Melanie had to talk by herself. She showed us a program on the internet. It is easy to get on, it was www.undercovercody.co.nz.

In the end we had to get up and walk back to class.

Ride on Mower Day

Well the sun came out at last and what a successful event the mower day was this year. Huge crowds and some awesome racing. The mowers were faster this year than ever before with top speeds of around 50kmph down the home straight and some serious drifting on the corners. The community got together at the event and we even had a number of the local candidates for the upcoming election racing in the “celebrity race”.  Stay tuned for more photos and movies from the event.

Whole School Planting Day

From Tree Planting

Last Wednesday the whole school went down to Huharua Harbour Park at the end of Plummers Point Road to help do the planting to establish the reserve. They all worked fantastically and surprised us all by the amount of planting they got done. We look forward to being able to use the park in the near future.
